Purdue University Diploma Cover Guide: Measure Before You Order

A product title that contains the word "Purdue" is not a fit guide. The diploma names which Purdue institution issued it, and that name decides which page you measure.

Four names that are not one school

Read the issuer carefully. These are different institutions, and a size from one does not belong on the others:

• Purdue University, the West Lafayette university people usually mean by "Purdue"
• Purdue University Fort Wayne
• Purdue University Northwest
• Purdue University Global

If the diploma says Fort Wayne, Northwest, or Global, do not order from a West Lafayette measurement, a bookstore listing, or a photo labeled only "Purdue." Record the full name in the order notes.

Inside West Lafayette

Even on the main campus, a diploma from one college is not proof of the next college's paper size. Engineering, management, and a graduate school can differ, and an older diploma can differ from this year's. For a class order, get the finished dimensions from the office coordinating graduation, or measure one final diploma per degree level before you approve a quantity.

How to measure, without a Purdue size chart

Seals and wording

Honor U is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or licensed by Purdue University or the other Purdue institutions named above. Do not send a griffin, seal, or wordmark unless you are allowed to reproduce it. Imprint a degree, a name, or a year instead. The cover does not authenticate the diploma.

What the four Purdue names mean for an order

Purdue University, on its own, is the West Lafayette university. Purdue University Fort Wayne and Purdue University Northwest are separate institutions with their own diplomas. Purdue University Global is the online university, and its diploma should not be sized from a West Lafayette example. If the document uses one of those longer names, copy the whole name into the order. A product photo that only says Purdue is not a match.

On the West Lafayette campus, engineering, agriculture, science, the Polytechnic Institute, and the business school can still issue different sheets. A class gift that mixes those colleges needs one finished diploma per college, or a written size from the office running commencement. Do not take the size from a frame sold at a campus store.

How to write the Purdue line

Put the exact institution name first, then the college if it is printed, then the year, then width and height. If Fort Wayne and West Lafayette are both in the family order, they are two lines, not one note that says "Purdue diplomas."

Foil a degree, a name, or a year. Do not send the griffin or the seal. The fit decision, stock or custom, is made after measuring, using the measuring guide and the made-to-fit explanation.

Questions that come up for Purdue

My diploma says Purdue University Global. Is this the West Lafayette size?

No. Global is a different institution. Measure that diploma on its own.

Can the alumni office send one size for a reunion class?

Only if they are looking at the finished diploma for that class, not a current frame. A reunion that spans colleges still needs those colleges checked.

Will a black cover with "Purdue" on it fit?

The word on the cover is not the fit. The fit is the measured page. Identify which Purdue issued it, then measure that page.
